When a foal shows an interest in eating dry feed, provide FOAL STARTER. This may occur as soon as one week after birth and will depend on how much milk the mare produces. FOAL STARTER should be the only feed offered to all nursing foals because the young foal's digestive system digests milk-based products better than cereal grains and protein. By three to four months of age, other enzymes develop which allows forage, oats, corn, and soybeans to be more efficiently utilized. Nursing foals should have free choice access to FOAL STARTER and should eat 1 lb/100 lb of body weight each day. See chart below: * Transition to BUCKEYE Nutrition Growth or GRO 'N WIN at 3-4 months of age. Provide clean, fresh water at all times.
